This seminar provides 1.5 hours of professional CPD.
Venue: Cafe 1001, 91 Brick Ln, London E1 6QL
Date: Wednesday 23rd February 2022 from 5pm – 7pm (with networking afterwards).
The COVID pandemic has presented a threat to many leisure brands but also an opportunity for new entrants and those seeking to grow their businesses. Challenger brands are emerging to take on older, established brands with large portfolios – offering customers and property owners new opportunities. Many are innovating with new twists on old formats and seeking to raise the quality of servic & experience for customers. Such challenger brands are essential to our sector’s vitality – this seminar covers operators from the different sectors of restaurants, wet-led venues, big box leisure and cinema.
Will Biggart from Leisure Agency Torridon will present on the brands that are growing, across the different leisure sectors, and the impact that has on the leasing market.
We will then have presentations from challenger brand operators Tim Wilks of Lane 7, and Brian Gilligan from ARC cinemas. These presentations will cover their customer offer, what they look for in a fit-out and their future expansion plans.
Julia Wilkinson, Restaurant Director from Shaftesbury PLC will be joining us to discuss what they look for in the new brands that have gone into their estate, and how they find and complete due diligence on new brands.
We will also be joined by hospitality sector investor, Charlie McVeigh for the panel discussion. Charlie has twenty years experience building brands and businesses. He works closely with entrepreneurial businesses on strategy, fund-raising and exit. Key investments include The Breakfast Club, Butchies Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Foodstuff – an indie-focused delivery aggregator.
The panel will discuss the opportunities and challenges that such brands are facing as they seek to grow and expand their businesses.
There will be an opportunity to network afterwards in Cafe 1001 for those who wish to stay.
