WEBINAR: Emerging from Lockdown PART 1 – the leisure sector post COVID-19
Emerging from Lockdown – pubs & bars post COVID-19
What are the trends as Leisure emerges from the lockdown?
Join us for our morning webinar looking at early indications of activity as leisure and hospitality emerge into their new ‘business as normal’.
Date: 28th July 2020
Time: 9.15am – access via Zoom invitation
In our first webinar on this topic, the Leisure Property Forum invites its membership to explore with us the early results and trends experienced by those with hospitality businesses in the wet-led sector that have opened up in July. While it will still be early days, our group of panellists from pubs and bars will give their insight in to how their businesses are shaping up, what changes they are experiencing and how they see the industry evolving now that trading has recommenced and they are engaging with customers again.
We will have the most up-to-date research with a sector round-up on the early indications of how our guests and consumers are reacting to the re-opening of the industry from Karl Chessel, CGA’s Business Unit Director for Food and Retail. After his presentation, there will be a chance to ask our panel of operators to share their early learnings.
We are delighted to welcome our chair for this session: Mark Stretton from. Fleet Street Communications who will be directing your questions to:

The Alchemist has won many prestigious sector awards and has sites across key UK cities including London, Manchester, and Birmingham.
Karen joined Greene King in 2012 from JJB Sports where she was retail director on the executive team. Prior to this, Karen enjoyed a long career in the retail sector, latterly at Mothercare plc where she was head of operations for eight years.
Sarah founded the independent neighbourhood pubs eight years ago in 2011, and they are fast becoming South London’s best-loved locals, currently six strong and still growing. Prior to establishing Livelyhood Pubs, Sarah owned Capricorn London before selling it in 2011.
Karl Chessel from CGA will be presenting the early research and numbers from the first 3 weeks of re-opening.
Karl has supported the eating and drinking out sector throughout his career, leading teams at businesses including Experian and CallCredit. He has worked closely with pub, bar and restaurant companies to understand their goals and provide tailored consumer insight and location planning solutions.
