The LPF presented an invaluable update on the UK gaming sector, concentrating on the four main sub-sectors of AGCs, bingo, bookmaking and casinos.
As well as providing a presentation of all relevant industry facts and figures, we welcomed a stellar panel of industry representatives covering these four sectors.
Byron Evans – Commercial Director at Praesepe PLC
Byron has been employed in the property and gaming industries most of his working life. He was involved in the initial fund raising that saw RAL Ltd reversed into Talarius and the successful acquisition of 5 separate businesses – with specific responsibility for all property, licensing, health & safety and compliance issues.
His career has included time with Rank, Sega and the world’s largest independent chain of bureau de change, where he developed the business in Spain, France and the USA.
Richard Noble – Chief Operating Officer, Aspers Group
Richard Noble joined Aspers Group as General Manager and was appointed Chief Operating Office in 2008.
In 2011, Richard played a key role in the successful opening of Aspers Westfield Stratford City, London; the first ever large license casino to operate in the UK.
He now sits on the Aspers Group Board of Directors and oversees all commercial operations, while steering the strategic growth of the group’s casino retail portfolio and online business.
Peter Willans – Property Director, Gala Bingo
Peter’s roles before this current role as Property Director at Gala Bingo include Property Director at Homestyle Group PLC, Group Property Director at NG Bailey and Head of Property at Focus DIY.
John Kerr – Property Director, Ladbrokes Coral
Having previously been Group Property Director for Gala Coral where he oversaw various corporate investor changes and the sale of the Gala Bingo arm, John moved with the Coral business following the subsequent merger with Ladbrokes. Historically he has held property roles at various retail companies including Edinburgh Woollen Mill.
In a panel Q&A session we will be quizzing them on the hot topics of the day including the latest Government consultation on FOBTs and the role of land-based gaming operations in today’s increasingly on-line savvy society.
